Back from the beach

 Hi everyone
I really appreciate all the really kind comments you are leaving, thanks for visiting.

Well I thought I would post when I got back from holidays before I went back to work but can someone tell me where last week went? It is over a week since I have been back and last week was a blur so here I am catching up.
We took our camper down to a lovely seaside town called Anglesea where we stayed at the Anglesea Beachfront Caravan Park. We have had the same site for the last 3 years and I just love it. I'll show you a couple of holiday snaps and you will see why I can't wait to get back there.

Every morning I enjoyed a nice hot cuppa 50 steps from our van......
Each day we walked to the main beach at Anglesea for a swim and lay in the sun...
the sites are huge so we have plenty of room to put our camper, annex and sun shade...

Each afternoon after a hard day at the beach and a walk we relaxed before dinner, my eReader, some nibbles and a wine - very relaxing.

Here is the boatramp at high tide, where I sit with my cuppa and sketchbook...
It was so relaxing to sit here at sunrise and dusk.

While I was gazing a the ocean, I did a couple of doodles.

I reflected on why I feel such a strong connection to the ocean and how it makes me feel.

I have always felt drawn to the ocean and holidays by the sea rather than by a river, say, even though I love visiting scenic inland places, the ocean is just relaxing to me.

What about you, where do you prefer to holiday, by the ocean or inland?

Since I have been home I have been working on a couple of submissions to our annual art group conference so I haven't done anything in my art journal but I will share tomorrow a page I gave you a sneak peak of in my last post.

I had trouble picking my favourite ocean quote so here are three to share

“Why do we love the sea? It is because it has some potent power to make us think things we like to think.”
- Robert Henri

“It’s hard for me to put into words why I like the beach so much. Everything about it is renewing for me, almost like therapy...Beach Therapy.”
- Amy Dykens

"I could never stay long enough on the shore; the tang of the untainted, fresh, and free sea air was like a cool, quieting thought."
-Helen Keller

Have a great day

No wonder you love going there! What a beautiful beach. And I love your camper set-up. Camping is so much fun but we haven't done it in quite awhile.

I also love being anywhere near water. It always relaxes me.

Time really does fly faster when you are off having fun! Doesn't it?

Love your photos...what a picture of relaxation!
Great sketching too...there is something so calming about the blues of the waters!

I like the hustle and bustle of a busy city just as much as the quiet country side...go figure! I make art wherever I go!

Anytime spent by the sea is time well spent Lee; or at least that is my take on it. Since I made the seachange, I'm on holidays everyday!!!
Hope you are feeling well rested.

Looks like you had a wonderful holiday Lee! I agree that there is something therapeutic about the beach. And it makes me feel really alive and as though anything is possible!

Love your beach pictures. They are so different than mine -- we have no rocky cliffs. Your annex to your pop-up is wonderful! My husband would totally want that, I'll have to show him. We're not camper-owners, but he dreams. Your journal pages are always so fun to look at.
