Well, this is my first doodle on my own.I still think there are a lot of improvements in my doodling. I dont like the way the colours run when they touch the "permanent" black lines when I dont want them to run. Do you put the colours down first and then outline or do you spray the black lines with fixative before you colour in? I am a bit frustrated with this.
I saw Toy Story 3 with my husband and 18 year old son today. I love these movies. They take you back to your childhood, evoke strong emotions (yes I did cry at the end) and enliven all your senses. I have always loved animations and I love the way you feel when you have watched one of these fantastic expressions of creativity. It reminds us that our Inner Child is still inside each and every one of us regardless of our age today. It reminds us to make time to connect to our Inner child and enjoy the simple things in life, to laugh every day, to make time to play, and to just have fun living. I think in this world today we have forgotten to do this on a regular basis and it is why I love these movies so much.
So what have you done today with your Inner Child?

Hi Lee,
Love your doodle!! So bright and colourful. Hmm... those outlines shouldn't run if you are using a Sharpie -or at least I have never had a sharpie run. Spray fixative does offer more protection and peace of mind. Are you using too much water when blending?
First day of school holidays here and I have entertained my inner child and my daughter with some beachcombing this morning. Never too old for collecting shells!!

Thanks Kerryanne. Perfect way to get in touch with your Inner child by collecting shells, one of my favourite things to do when I visit my parents at Ulladulla.
I dont use any water when i am doing this doodling so I dont know what I am doing wrong. Even the sharpies still dont want to write sometimes, it is like they have dried out even if they are brand new. I will have another go tomorrow and see what happens.
Today I am cleaning out my laundry which is where I usually paint, because DH has got sick of my "stuff" all over the dining table. Go figure!! anyway, it has taken me far too long already and I am about to just pile everything back in but have to keep the goal in mind so off I go into the unknown.......
Lee:)
Sorry, just got what you meant about the water when I pressed Publish. I am colouring in in coloured Sharpies.
Hmm....not sure why your colors are running especially if you're not using water. I usually color in my doodles and then outline. I use Micron pens and Sharpies and I've never had them run. As for the Sharpie not writing, are you putting down a layer of gesso on your pages? If so, that will definitely make the Sharpies not work right.
Yes Janet, I have put down gesso. Does it help to have a coat of paint over the top of the gesso?
I LOVE this page! So eye-catching and vibrant....lovely job, Lee!
